    Finding and winning federal contracts and subcontracts requires good decision-making.

    Good decision-making demands targeted data and information, market insights, relationships and a level of context to understand how each of these pieces fits together.

    Why? To achieve  accurate and timely development of answers to questions ranging from, “Who buys?” and “How do they buy?” to “Which teammates?” and “Bid or no-bid?”

    Ethical Stalking for Government Contractors™ Essentials 2-Day Bootcamp is comprehensive training that delivers practical information-in-context for reducing and eliminating the mystery of doing business with U.S. civilian, defense and intelligence agencies.

    If you are:

    • an executive who develops and implements company growth strategies;
    • an executive or professional who identifies, qualifies, pursues and responds to contract and subcontract opportunities;
    • administrative staff supporting market research, pipeline management and marketing efforts;
    • from a government agency and would like this information to better identify viable industry partners;

    you should attend this program at your earliest opportunity.

    By design, this program guides participants to understand: what information is needed; why it’s needed; where to find it; how to use it and more. The goal is increasing their ability to make or support decisions in choosing the path best suited to the capabilities and objectives of their companies.

    Just as every company is unique in how it plans and executes elements of the business development life cycle, every company has different resources to utilize in conducting marketing, business development, capture management and proposal management. The Essentials 2-Day Bootcamp empowers individuals with proven knowledge, skills and confidence needed to fuel these activities and drive growth for companies of 1 to 200.

    Each Essentials 2-Day Bootcamp discusses:

    • tenets and outcomes of the business development life cycle;
    • understanding data, information, knowledge and intelligence;
    • managing opportunity information;
    • controlling and reducing the cost of acquiring business;
    • where information comes from;
    • what information is needed;
    • what questions need to be answered;
    • the meanings of government contracting data and terminologies;
    • buyers versus sellers and knowing the difference;
    • federal agency award types;
    • and more.

    Additionally, the integrated Brick Building Opportunity provides participants with ongoing hands-on opportunities to leverage the tactics, tools and context conveyed by the Bootcamp Instructor. Each session presents attendees with useful information on a host of government-owned systems available to the public that are specifically relevant to executing portions of the business development life cycle. During and outside of the Brick Building Opportunity activities, the Bootcamp Instructor will assist participants with accessing, bookmarking and exploiting four to six of the systems during scheduled deep dives. Attendees are required to bring a personal computing device to participate in these activities.

    Each interactive ESGC Bootcamp program is limited to 10 participants.

    The registration fee includes course materials, a pre-bootcamp breakfast and lunch for one (1) participant for both days of the Bootcamp.

    What exactly is a Business Development Analyst and what do they do? That's the topic of this discussion to be led by our team member, Nicole Tripodi of EMD Strategies.

    If you are a BD Analyst, Marketing Support, Marketing Analyst, Sales Support, Inside Sales, Sales Administrator or a business executive seeking to grow or hire a BD Analyst for our company, don't miss this interactive discussion as Nicole shares her experience and offers tips for making the BD Analyst an invaluable resource!

    While there are certainly more than just five things that will bring proposal activities to a fiery end, our friend and team member Stephanie Zink of Taurus Group will lead a robust discussion about her top 5 picks, what causes them and tips to avoid them. The ROI for this discussion is the thousands of dollars in cash or level of effort, that will be saved by following Stephanie's very sage advice.

    On a related note, Stephanie recently led a training called 'Writing To Win' for members of AFCEA International, a 30K institutional membership organization for government contractors. Many of the folks that attended are still talking about that session and the outstanding insights Stephanie and the other presenters delivered.

    Industry veterans and neophytes alike are welcome. In all honesty, you can't lose when Stephanie is at the front of the room. Be prepared to take notes!

    When the 2018 National Defense Authorization Act finally arrived, it was chock full of changes that will have positive and negative impacts on industry organizations. Some of those changes affected the:
    • SBA HUBZone Program;
    • use of Lowest-Price Technically Acceptable procurement procedures;
    • Micro-Purchase and Simplified Acquisition Thresholds;
    • DoD Debriefings;
    • Protest procedures;
    • and more.
    During this lunch discussion hosted by our friends and partners at Koprince Law guest team member Matthew Schoonover provides an overview of top changes in the 2018 NDAA impacting small federal contractors, and what companies need to know about those changes.

    Matt is a Senior Associate Attorney at Koprince Lawwhere his practice focuses exclusively on providing legal solutions to federal government contractors. Matt is at home representing clients in claims against the government, bid protests (at the Government Accountability Office, FAA Office of Dispute Resolution for Acquisition, and Court of Federal Claims), in small business and socioeconomic status protests at the Small Business Administration, and in appeals before the SBA Office of Hearings and Appeals. Matt also assists clients with requests for equitable adjustment, claims, and appeals at the Boards of Contract Appeals and Court of Federal Claims.

    Ethical Stalking Essentials are educational topics based on key elements of the Ethical Stalking for Government Contractors™ curriculum created solely to empower companies to have an improved view of competitors, customers, opportunities and partners in federal contracting.

    'What You Don't Know About GovCon Codes and Contracts Can Hurt You!' is actually two important discussions joined at the hip.

    Not Knowing the GovCon Codes dives right into procurement classification codes used everyday by civilian, defense and intelligence agencies and the many myths regarding what they mean, or don't mean. Do you know the codes?

    From the very beginning of this discussion, your facilitator will demonstrate industry's general lack of familiarity and context with classification systems used by industry to identify opportunities and by agencies to track how (and to whom) obligations are distributed.

    Not Knowing the GovCon Contracts takes on common myths and misconceptions about how federal agencies (civilian, defense and intelligence) make buys. For years, this discussion has left participants stunned and making substantive changes to how they engage in prospecting and pursuit activities. How well do you understand the types of awards used by prospects and current customers?

    Participants can expect to come away from this session with an accurate and actionable understanding of why they need to 'know the codes and contracts' and how that knowledge can result in improved visibility of how agencies describe what and how they procure goods and services.

      Pre-registration for this event is required. The registration fee includes participation for one individual and post-event access to the slide presentation.

      We're mixing it up GovCon style in Minneapolis with a small and intimate network mixer just outside of downtown. This means to attend you'll need to pre-register to reserve a spot at this awesome event!

      First things first. There will be some great food and beverage courtesy of your hosts, The American Small Business Coalition, EMD Strategies and ClearedConnections to curb your appetite and thirst. Be sure to bring plenty of business cards and an appetite for knowledge and opportunity.

      This event is also a fundraiser to support the great work being done by Ranger Karl Monger and his team at GallantFew.  Don't know about GallantFew? This is the organization we supported on December 6th with over $20,000 in donations from government contractors in DC/MD/VA during our Holiday Charity Bash event in Tysons Corner, VA. Their mission is to prevent veteran isolation by connecting new veterans with hometown veteran mentors, thereby facilitating a peaceful, successful transition from military service to a civilian life filled with hope and purpose. Your entire registration fee of $25 is going directly to GallantFew and you will receive a charitable donation receipt and acknowledgement from them once we submit your information collected during registration.

      2. Medical and Surgical Instruments, Equipment and Supplies;
      3. Meat, Poultry and Fish
      4. Dairy Foods and Eggs
      5. Ammunition Through 30MM

More than half of the total obligations were contracted via negotiated proposals and quotes whereas multiple-award contract spending represented less than 20% of total obligations.
