For the record, a Simplified Acquisition is a purchase conducted by a federal agency under FAR Part 13 that leverages streamlined rules meant to lessen the administrative burden on Government and Industry when it comes to procurement activities. More than 60 federal agencies, boards and commissions obligate billions each fiscal year for the purchase of a wide variety of goods and services, primarily from small business concerns.
