Mentor-Protégé Program (MPP) Connections

Purpose: MPP Connections™ is a program developed and undertaken by the members and staff of The American Small Business Coalition to create a central, publicly accessible repository of information about Government and Industry Mentor-Protégé Programs. The objective is to assist and benefit Government and Industry organizations interested in leveraging this useful partnership tool to contribute to the growth and development of the small business community and the achievement of the operational goals of government agencies.

Definition: Mentor-Protégé Programs exist at multiple levels of government and throughout industry. The overall intent of the program is to enhance the capability of Protégé participants to compete more successfully for business opportunities and to contribute to the development of a more viable long-term partner for government agencies and private sector organizations. Benefits for protégés can take the form of technical and management assistance, financial assistance in the form of equity investments and/or loans, subcontract support, and assistance in performing prime contracts through a structured mentoring relationship with an established small, medium or large business.
