Marketing/Research Associate, FED/SLED (Virtual/Part-Time)


SUMMARY

The Marketing/Research Associate for the Federal, State and Local Government and Education markets is primarily responsible for the collection and dissemination of data to support the business development efforts of The American Small Business Coalition’s members. The right individual in this role will be a dependable self-starter who can succeed in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment. The Marketing/Research Associate will interact with company leadership and representatives from government agencies and industry organizations. Duties include but are not limited to telephone and web-based research activities, customer service, direct mailing, printing and project coordination activities. The Marketing/Research Associate must project a professional image during in-person, online and telephone interactions. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to complete job duties with minimal instruction are essential to the success of this position.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Research Support:
    • Identify existing federal/state/local requirements through in-depth research, primarily web-based.
    • Update identified business opportunities via internet and telephone research.
    • Publish collected information in provided and developed online and written formats.
    • Present information in organized online, oral and written formats.

  2. Marketing Support:
    • Identifies member prospects through in-depth research, primarily web-based
    • Develops and implements direct marketing solicitations and Membership mailings
    • Represent The American Small Business Coalition at select online and in-person events

     3. Staff Assistance:

    • Research, type, prepare correspondence, fax and file.
    • Support staff in assigned project based work
    • Generates reports
    • Manages multiple projects
    • Uses Microsoft Office products to create and modify documents
    • Prepares correspondence, reports, and materials for publications and presentations
    • Performs scanning, faxing, mailing, and filing as needed
    • Maintains electronic filing system
    • Prepares mailing lists and labels for special mailings
  1. Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor's Degree or 2-4 years experience in marketing, customer support, data collection, business development or public sector
  2. Good verbal, reading and writing skills and command of the English language
  3. Basic math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplication and division)
  4. Ability to establish priorities and manage workload
  1. Intermediate level experience using Microsoft Office products
  2. Ability to conduct business over the telephone in an appropriate and professional manner
  3. Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and discretion with confidential information
  4. Previous experience in an office environment and customer service related skills preferred
  5. Excellent internet research skills
  6. Good working knowledge of e-mail programs and group messaging systems
  7. Pleasant, professional presence and people skills
  1. Superb confidentiality and ethics are imperative due to the sensitive nature of information processing and handling requirements.
  2. Proven ability to handle multiple projects; work independently with limited supervision in a fast paced environment with great attention to detail
  3. Read monitors and paperwork. Requires regular use of telephone, PC monitor and keyboard

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Valid driver’s license (State issued)
  2. Use of a personal vehicle
  3. Current auto insurance meeting minimum requirements of state in which vehicle is registered
  4. High speed internet connection (Partial reimbursement available)
  5. Current homeowners or renters insurance policy
  6. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. on occasion
  7. Must be able to commute at various times including early morning and evenings to different meeting locations with collateral materials
  8. Sign and comply with The ASBC Telecommuting Policy, Telecommuting Agreement and the Telecommuting Safety Inspection Form.

PRIMARY WORK LOCATION

The Marketing/Research Associate is a home-based position.

REPORTS TO

The Marketing/Research Associate reports to the Chief Visionary/Executive Officer and the President

PROVIDES SUPPORT TO

The Marketing/Research Associate provides direct support to the Chief Visionary/Executive Officer, President and selected members

COMPENSATION

Range: $12-18/hour

SCHEDULE

10-15 hours per week
