|About GovConCI™ (@GovConCI)|
“Not having the information you need when you need it leaves you wanting.
Here's a hard truth.
Many companies pursuing business opportunities with civilian, defense and intelligence agencies of the U.S. Government don't have the information they need and don't know where to look for that information to support critical decision-making related to their growth objectives.
The irony of this lies in the sheer pervasiveness of useful government contracting data and information. To say that finding and capturing this information is not the biggest challenge is an understatement. The hurdle that trips up small and large companies alike is a fundamental lack of context for the meaning and the usability of information. Author Michael Ventura said it best in his 1997 article Connecting a Few Dots:
“Without context, a piece of information is just a dot.
Which begs the question "How do you connect the dots if you don't know what the dots mean?"
The GovConCI™ program is dedicated to increasing the ability of industry organizations to effectively manage decision-making. We achieve this through facilitation of activities that provide participants the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to acquire timely and relevant information to better manage risk, and more efficient decision-making processes to reduce their cost of acquiring business, helping them save time and money.
What is GovConCI™?
The Government Contracting Competitive Intelligence Community or GovConCI™ is an exclusive collaboration and education forum for consumers, creators and practitioners of the data and information produced as a result of and in response to the business activities of the agencies, boards and commissions of the U.S. Government. GovConCI exists to support the development and use of knowledge and intelligence by industry organizations seeking to do business with those agencies and their contractors.
The primary goals of GovConCI are:
(1) open conversation with government officials who create and maintain public access data and data repositories, and those who establish and implement policies for this data;
(2) increase understanding and utilization of public data sources relevant to government contracting;
(3) establish and enhance the competitive intelligence knowledge and skills of industry professionals, and;
(4) establish and maintain a professional certification program for CI professionals in government contracting.
Participation in GovConCI is member and sponsor-based. Regular programs consist of in-person (DC/MD/NoVA) and web-based discussions, workshops and networking events. Future Members are welcome to participate in several of these activities for an additional fee.
