About Toby's Dinner Theatre
Located in the heart of Columbia, Toby’s Dinner Theatre offers award-winning Broadway and original musicals with an exceptional buffet-style dinner. From our customer’s first contact with our Box Office or Group Sales staff to watching our servers transform into the glamorous, talented performers on stage, our commitment to our guests’ enjoyable Toby’s experience is first and foremost. This is truly a unique venue with an amazing performance ‘in-the-round.’
Toby’s, celebrating it’s 32nd season, has it’s own history and style. Performances in-the-round provide the patron with a dynamic interactive experience and a fine seat, with none more than 30 feet from the stage. Additionally, the theatre is one of the few regional dinner theatres to maintain a live orchestra. Toby’s has been nominated 57 times for Helen Hayes Awards; nine of which were for our 2003 production of RAGTIME. Toby won the 2003 Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Director of a Resident Musical, JEKYLL & HYDE. Toby’s resident choreographer, Ilona Kessel, won the 2002 and 2004 Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Choreography for DAMN YANKEES and RAGTIME respectively. Our 2009 production of OKLAHOMA! has received 2 Helen Hayes nominations for Lead Actress and Supporting Actress.
