Knowledge Exchange and Relationships Top Agenda for May 10th Government Contracting Event in Columbia

Columbia, MD, Thursday, May 10, 2012 — On the morning of May 10th, representatives from nearly one hundred small companies seeking to learn all they can about the small business set-aside contract named NSETS, converged on Columbia, MD to participate in the NSETS Industry Review hosted by The American Small Business Coalition.

The event was the result of discussions by and between members of the Small Business Intelligence Community and Cyber Working Group (SBINT/CYBER) who saw need to facilitate a comprehensive information exchange about the innovative acquisition program run by the National Security Agency, which is currently preparing for the third generation of NSETS.

According to the agency website, NSETS represents "an important agency initiative that enables NSA to competitively acquire agency requirements for business, engineering, information technology, operations support, and training services from teams of highly qualified small businesses.”

The agenda for the half-day event included briefings by officials of the NSETS II Program Office, and a substantive industry discussion panel featuring representatives from Exceptional Software Strategies (ESS), Freedom Consulting Group, Praxis Engineering and Prime Solutions. Panelists provided their perspectives on the overall benefits of participating in the program, successes, challenges and tips for other small companies considering participation as a prime or teaming partner.

Supporting the NSETS Industry Review event were more than twenty companies to include: NMR Consulting (Gold Sponsor); CollabraSpace and Maranatha & Associates (Silver Sponsors); Deltek and Global Services (Annual Cornerstone Sponsors); InfoTek Corporation and TSource (SBINT/CYBER Group Chairs).

Participation in the event was limited to U.S. owned and controlled companies doing business as contractors and/or subcontractors in support of the U.S. Government.
