hope you had a great weekend and are ready to go because it's going to
be a busy week for us, and we hope a busy and productive one for you!
are often asked by prospective Members, "What is The ASBC all about?"
and "How does membership help me do business in the government sector?"
typical response is to have them to talk to Members to get feedback
from someone who is currently walking in their shoes. Having overheard
some of these conversations, and from the feedback we receive from our
ongoing membership survey, each Member seems to see the value as being
fairly unique. In fact, some of the more recent feedback we've received
likens us to "that little extra something to tip things in your favor" in addition to your own efforts.
value the uniqueness of the community our Members have helped us build,
and continue to develop programs and relationships to give our Industry
Members an edge in identifying, pursuing and delivering against
relevant business opportunities. Concurrently, we are committed to
supporting our Government Members as a complimentary, trusted partner
helping them conduct outreach and market research to identify and
engage the most viable from the business community.
Have a great week!

Justice Serves Up SBA HUBZone Opinion
If you have not heard, the Department of Justice has issued its binding opinion related to the scuffle between GAO and SBA. Here's the nutshell version: "The Small Business Administration's regulations governing the interplay among the Historically
Underutilized Business Zone Program, the 8(a) Business Development Program, and the Service-
Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Concern Program constitute a permissible construction of the
Small Business Act."

The IC Side of DHS
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has
responsibilities for fusing
law enforcement and intelligence

organizations that specifically contribute to DHS' role in the U.S.
Intelligence Community are the

theme of the evening was to celebrate and honor the past and current
members of the Military Intelligence Corps and to especially recognize
the MI NCO's.

exposed to the culture and camaraderie of the professionals tasked with
protecting our way of life, often by putting themselves in harms' way.
It is also humbling when you meet those who have been wounded in
execution of that duty, and hear about those who made the ultimate
On the heels of the anniversary of the tragic events
of September 11th, 2001 not only should we not forget what happened
