For the Government Sector: Announcing SBGovWins, Tysons BoB, For Contractors Only
Sunday, August 23, 2009
Have a great and productive week! We
hope you had a fantastic weekend! We managed to relax a bit while also
getting a few things knocked out to benefit the Members of The ASBC.
Will you be participating in any of the MEDWeek events planned for this
Here's what The ASBC has planned for this week...
Business Over Breakfast Tysons, B2G Market Intelligence Group Meeting, CORE Collaborations Meeting (Topic: Implementing FY10 Strategies), For Government Contractors Only Breakfast
Strategic Partnerships: On Schedule (or GWAC)The General Services Administration recently announced its new Mentor Protege Program
where small, medium and large companies holding multiple award
contracts issued by GSA can enter into relationships with small
businesses to participate in the development of companies with less
experience in the government sector. This adds a new dimension to partnerships and potentially creates an opportunity for teaming beyond the typical perks since the program allows contracting officers to look more favorably at bids from mentor/proteges.
The other day we spoke with our friend Mary Parks, Acting Director of the Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization at GSA, who has agreed to join us for a special roundtable to discuss this new program.
Stay tuned for details!
SBGovWins: Awareness + B2G Member SuccessesWhile reading local and national publications recently, Maggie and I took notice of the fact that sections relating to Government Contract Awards
seemed to omit recognizing small businesses committed to supporting the
mission of government agencies and our Nation and we're not sure why.
So, we've decided to take things into our own hands and have established SBGovWins, a publicly viewable blog on The ASBC web portal where our Associate and Corporate B2G Members can post news about recent direct and subcontract awards received by or issued to small businesses participating in our membership. Updates on the SBGovWins
blog will be re-published on The ASBC's presence on various popular
social networks, our newsletters and web portal to ensure as much
visibility as possible!
Want to keep up with the announcements? Check us out on Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook or subscribe to our mailing list.
