Following introduction by Guy Timberlake, Mitch Martin of Merrill Advisory Group will lead 2009 Planning Meeting to solicit ideas from current and prospective silo members.
On the afternoon of Thursday, January 15th the Finance and Accounting Silo, one of the education/information activities of The ASBC Business Operations Support Services (BOSS) Committee, will host a planning meeting to discuss programs and content to be featured during the 2009 season.
The meeting will also serve as an introduction of newly appointed chair Mitchell Martin of Merrill Advisory Group (a Coalition Exchange Member). Mitch, a principal in the specialized mergers & acquisitions firm exclusively focused on companies serving federal civilian, defense and homeland security agencies, will lead efforts to develop and deliver relevant and timely information through webinars, seminars, blog articles, white papers, audio interviews and discipline-specific discussion groups.
The Finance and Accounting Silo mission focuses on the needs of business owners, executives and related professionals doing business in the government sector and taps into the knowledge of The ASBC’s CORE™ Members and select industry practitioners in the areas of Business Finance, Accounting (emphasis on DCAA Compliance), Capital Management, Mergers and Acquisitions and managing relationships with financial institutions.
“While most of our efforts will focus on working with member companies, the Finance and Accounting Silo will absolutely leverage the partnerships and technology resources Maggie and Guy have made available,” explains Mitch Martin. “Any individual or company seeking reliable information for government contractors should visit us in-person or online.”
Silo membership is open to CORE™ Members (Small Business, PrimeConnection™, ChannelConnection™, Coalition Exchange Members) and Government Access Members who can view more information at http://www.theasbc.org/group/finance.
Celebrating its fifth anniversary this year, The American Small Business Coalition is a unique business community fostering a culture of collaboration and success for companies and individual professionals doing business in the government sector.
