The State of The ASBC

Business in the government sector is all about relationships...
...and building relationships in the government sector is our business.

Information, Relationships And Access For The Government Sector

JUL 2008 gif

From the Chief Visionary

Guy Bob Larry

...and building relationships in the government sector is our business.

Under Promise.

Over Deliver.

It's one way to manage the expectations of those you support and ensure that you are all singing from the same sheet of music. It's also a necessity in most if not all aspects of business activities.

One of the ways we attempt to achieve this state of harmony with our membership is through polls and surveys and then acting on the information we receive to continue providing relevant (and more relevant) programs.

We just completed a round of surveys of our Associate, Small Business, PrimeConnection and CX Trusted Service Provider Members and are looking forward to discussing the results with the membership at the next State of The ASBC Quarterly Membership Meeting on Friday, August 8th at the Tower Club.

We keep pushing on!

Can you believe it's almost August? Where has the year gone?

It means we're coming up on fiscal year end and elections, all things that will create change for all of us. These impending situations combined with all of the other situations business owners face everyday make it more and more incumbent to leverage various types of resources to help you manage the growth of your business.

One type of resource companies leverage is an Advisory Board which provides counsel, advice, contacts, professional skills and experiences that typically go beyond that of the company management team and may include individuals with industry, sales, operations, strategy, financial, marketing, technology, investment, intellectual property, or human resource expertise.

Join us on August 7th at the Tower Club for Leveraging an Advisory Board for Business Success! featuring Art Medici, a tenured executive and member of The ASBC Advisory Board.

In his spare time, Art also chairs The ASBC President's, Owners and Chief Executive's Silo (POCx), which provides content of specific interest to Owners and CEOs of Member companies doing business in support of the government sector.

That's it for this month. Time for us to get back to work! We have more relationships to develop and more market intelligence to acquire to help our Members find, win and deliver against requirements in support of the agencies and contractors of the Government!

WebTips and FAQ's: The ASBC Web 2.0!

people on pcThe ASBC has launched a new web home with lots of collaboration tools and resources. Each month we'll highlight some of those features to help you better leverage our online community.

We've added a shopping cart feature so you may select as many events as you like, and pay for them in a virtual card "swipe"!

On those events where multiple registrations are permitted, you may now include the names of your colleagues in your registration and pay for everyone in one transaction.

Each event has a calendar icon next to it (see above) which allows you to instantly add event detail directly to your calendar client on your PC.

All Members have the ability to request a connection to any other Member. It's a great way to follow up after you've met them at an event, or as a pre-cursor to connecting at an upcoming industry event!

Life In The ASBC: Kudos From Our Members

business discussionWe're always being asked "What is it about The ASBC that your Members like so much?" So we decided to let our Members tell you.

This one is from
Small Business-Select Member, Angela Dingle, President and CEO of Ex Nihilo Management.

"I recently met one-on-one with Guy and Maggie to discuss a challenge that requires immediate attention. It was a great forum, although perhaps not one that could be offered to each Member. What I think I gained most from it was a plan of action to introduce me and the services I provide to key decision makers within my target market."
