Finance and Accounting Silo announces group formation and community blog to support The ASBC Community.
McLean, VA, Wednesday, July 2, 2008 -- If you or someone in your company is responsible for managing activities related to your existing line of credit, receivables, working capital and corporate finance then we have just the resource for you.
The ASBC Professional and Executive Development Committee which is
dedicated to providing relevant and accurate decision support to
business owners, executives and industry professionals of the
government sector through in-person, audio and web-based activities is pleased to welcome the Finance, Accounting, Capital Management and Mergers Acquisition Silo.
The Finance and Accounting Silo as it will be known, held its first planning meeting last evening (July 1st) to discuss first steps to include agreeing to the launch of the groups community blog a resource for individuals and companies seeking information about 1) How to
develop/maintain a banking relationship and leverage core products such
as loans, deposits and cash management services, 2) Corporate Finance,
3) Accounting Best Practices, 4) Working Capital Management 5) DCAA/FAR Compliance, and 6) Mergers and Acquisitions.
"Having your financial house in order is a key to success in the government sector," stated The ASBC's chief visionary Guy Timberlake at last night's kickoff meeting. "Although it's always a factor in teaming strategies, financial viability is more important than ever when agencies and other contractors are vetting your capacity to support them on projects."
Allen Schirmer, Senior Vice President at United Bank in Vienna, VA and a two year Member of the CX Trusted Service Provider program was the first of the group to submit a post to the new blog.
Two other silos have been formed under the PED Committee. They are the Human Resources, Recruiting and Retention Silo (HR Silo) and the Presidents, Owners and Chief Executives Silo (POCx) which will announce kickoff meetings shortly.
