The American Small Business Coalition formed to offer Public Sector Marketing Services

ASBC Shared-Marketing approach designed to utilize “economies of scale” to provide First Contact Marketing and early stage Business Development for the Small Business Community.

(PRWEB) April 20, 2004--The American Small Business Coalition (ASBC), a division of One-Click Office Solutions, LLC, will be introduced today to attendees and exhibitors at the 14th Annual OSDBU (Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization) Procurement Conference.

One-Click Office Solutions is a Columbia, MD based Woman-owned Small Business offering a suite of Small Business services in the areas of Administration, Human Resources, Federal Business Development and Capture Management.

The OSDBU Procurement Conference is an event sponsored by several U.S. Government Agency Small Business Programs, held in Upper Marlboro, MD. The conference is designed to foster business partnerships between Small Business, Federal Agencies and Federal Prime Contractors. The American Small Business Coalition provides Shared-Marketing services to maximize the exposure of ASBC Member Companies to Federal and Department of Defense Agencies for current and upcoming requirements for products and services.

By utilizing a group approach, Member Companies are charged a flat monthly fee based on a tiered rate schedule that corresponds to the number of employees in their organization. The result is a very economical means of small companies having the ability to engage in Marketing and Networking practices that might otherwise be resource and cost-prohibitive according to Guy Timberlake, Chief Operating Officer for One-Click Office Solutions, LLC. “In speaking with Business owners during the last few weeks, it was made apparent that many Small Businesses have streamlined their operations in an effort to reduce operating expenses and increase competitiveness in the marketplace. This means that companies ranging in size from two to fifty employees are typically very entrenched in their organization’s operations. They are either billable Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) or Program Management which makes it unrealistic that they would spend a day sitting in a trade show booth.”

That’s where ASBC comes in. ASBC staff participates in Vendor Outreach Sessions, direct discussions with the Government and Government Contractors, industry tradeshows and industry association meetings. “We act as an enhancement to their existing marketing efforts, or in some cases, provide them (Marketing) entirely. It’s all dependent on their needs.”

ASBC Member Companies receive weekly or bi-weekly reports with details of opportunities for agency acquisition requirements, subcontracting opportunities or briefings for more formal introductions to organizations they seek to do business with. Upon joining the ASBC, information relevant to the offerings and experience along with other information used in the process of pursuing and capturing acquisition opportunities is collected from each company. The information is matched to the appropriate agency/opportunity and disclosed for further meetings and discussions between the interested organization and the Member Company.

ASBC has another customer, but this one is not assessed a fee for the services it receives. That would be The United States Government. “OSDBU and SADBU (Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization) staff have repeatedly told us that they simply cannot meet with every Small Business.” After querying many of them and other personnel responsible for specific Programs at various agencies, ASBC embarked on developing a mechanism to bring them the information in a way that would optimize each experience from a time and quality of information standpoint. ASBC is currently exploring the development of a database and web interface that will provide security and allow authorized visitors to view information based on parameters they enter. “If you are searching for a Service-Disabled Veteran-owned Small Business with Open Source Development experience, a HUB Zone certification and past performance in the Department of Homeland Security, we will provide an easy way for them to be found.”

The monthly investment for this service is minimal. None of the prices exceed one-thousand dollars, Members are not locked into long-term agreements and there are no additional fees. Chief Operating Officer Guy Timberlake says, “Our fees are based on what we believe to be fair and reasonable, and also take into consideration the economies of scale that we will realize. For less than the average cost of many privately run four-hour table-top expositions held at Government agencies across the country, our Members receive the benefit of an entire month of activities and the fruits that our efforts will bear for them at a much lower cost point. We make sure that before they sign on the dotted line, they have appropriate expectations of our services. We are not offering full life-cycle Business Development, but lead generation and networking that is qualified based on the information we receive from our Member Companies and provided by the agencies and contractors we meet.”
