Washington Breakfast Club™
(WBC) is a monthly information exchange which features legislators, agency executives and officials from all branches of federal government presenting on relevant and timely information to interested industry participants.

For the September 2010 WBC, we are pleased to welcome Mr. Jack Beecher, Deputy for Small Business, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk District.

About the Presentation
The Norfolk District Corps of Engineers is in the fourth year of the largest Construction Program in their history. Several Programs, Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC), Centers of Standardazation (COS), American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA), and work for the Veterans Administration (VA) has caused Norfolk’s workload to increase greatly. As an example. From FY07 thru 31 July FY10 Norfolk District has awarded approx. $2.4 Billion in total contracts. The previous four year period, FY03-FY06, Norfolk District awarded just over $1.2 Billion.

Mr. Beecher’s presentation will cover all four programs to include examples of contract awards made to both Small and Large Businesses in Virginia and across the US. He will also discuss subcontract awards made as with special emphasis on awards made to Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses.

The doors open at 7:15 AM for registration and networking with a hot buffet breakfast being served at 7:30. Each attendee will be given the opportunity to introduce him/herself and his/her company. Following this our speaker will present their program and we will turn it back over to networking following Q&A.

The cost of the event is $55.00 for prepaid registration. There is an additional $10.00 fee for onsite registration and payment. No-show's and late cancellations will be charged the full event price. The ASBC Guest/Fail Policy is in effect.
