The American Small Business Coalition is starting a Toastmasters Club!
us for our first meeting on the morning of Tuesday, December 2nd to
hear Charter Members give their first speeches and learn how
Toastmasters can help you personally and professionally.
During this meeting we will be conducting Club Officer elections. (Please see officer role descriptions below for more details)
There is no cost for this event and it is open to any that would like to participate.We'll also be accepting applications for Charter Members for ASBC Toastmasters. to set the record for the new club with the most charter members. As of this notice, only sixteen to go!
Charter membership fees are:
Semi-annual dues: $50.00
+ New member fee: $20.00 (one-time fee)
+ Charter fee: $19.00 (one-time fee)
= Total charter membership fee: $89.00*
*Charter membership fees include: membership dues, charter member pin, manuals (new member fee)
Recurring membership dues: $50.00 (semi-annual)

Club Officer Information - terms run July 1 through June 30th.President
Serves as the club’s chief executive officer, responsible for general supervision and operation of the club. He or she will preside at the club and executive committee meetings directing the club in a way that meets the educational growth and leadership needs of its members. With the executive team, the president establishes long-term and short-term goals for the club according to the distinguished club plan.
Vice President of Education
Responsible for planning successful meetings and promoting the educational program for the club. This includes making and maintaining a club schedule of meeting roles, assisting the toastmaster and general evaluator in organizing the meeting, reporting educational completions, recognizing member achievements and assigning mentors.
Vice President of Membership
Implements a continuous membership plan for maintaining membership. Orients new members, assists with assigning mentors, keeps an accurate club roster, works the hotline leads and promotes member satisfaction and retention. This person should also education all members on the proper way to fill out the membership application.
Vice President for Public Relations
Develops and directs all marketing efforts internal and external of the club. This includes but is not limited to a club newsletter, website, news releases and publicity of events and meetings.
The keeper of the records is responsible for all club records and correspondence, recording minutes of the business meetings and ordering supplies. Club records can also include a copy of every club agenda and attendance at meetings.
Responsible for all club financial transactions and records. This includes the timely submission of new member applications and the semi-annual report as well as collecting the dues and working with the bank.
Handles the logistics of the club meeting – reserves the room, sets up and cleans up – in addition to keeping the club’s property and opening the club meetings. This person also serves as the Master Host in welcoming people and arranging for food, if necessary.

Toastmasters International has grown to become a world leader in
helping people become more competent and comfortable in front of an
audience. The nonprofit organization now has nearly 235,000 members in 11,700 clubs in 92 countries, offering a proven – and enjoyable! – way to practice and hone communication and leadership skills.
Toastmasters meetings are comprised of approximately 20 people who meet
weekly for an hour or two. Participants practice and learn skills by
filling a meeting role, ranging from giving a prepared speech or an
impromptu one to serving as timer, evaluator or grammarian.
