The ASBC's of Government Contracting is an ongoing information series for organizations and individuals seeking to increase their knowledge of the federal sector and enhance their ability to identify and capture business opportunities through expanding their familiarity with the practices and processes specific to this marketplace.  Facilitated by Guy Timberlake, Co-Founder and Chief Visionary Officer of The American Small Business Coalition, this series is founded in his more than twenty years of experience in government contracting and the practice-based knowledge of current and former Industry and Government professionals and executives associated with The ASBC.

The ASBC's of Government Contracting is presented as in-person seminars and webinars to anyone interested in developing a working knowledge of doing business in the government sector.

Summary: You've done the preliminary research and have made the decision to pursue contract opportunities in the federal sector. What now?  During this interactive session, participants will be provided information about practical steps and regulatory issues business owners and executives should be aware of to properly posture companies entering the federal sector. Topics to be discussed include Understanding How NAICS Codes are Used in Government Contracting and Selecting Your NAICS Codes. We'll also cover Registering in the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) and the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA).  We'll help you understand the relevance of applicable Federal small business/socioeconomic programs and available resources for determining how to initiate applications for your company. Each participant receives a copy of Government Marketing Best Practices by Mark Amtower.Sessions are limited to fifteen participants.

Who Should Participate?: Business Owners and Executives seeking answers to questions about developing a business practice to pursue federal contract opportunities and first steps for positioning companies to be registered as federal contractors.
