The Air Force is undergoing a major transformation of its financial services that will save millions of dollars and return hundreds of Airmen to the fight.

On Tuesday, May 20 (RESCHEDULED FROM 5/6),  we will be joined by Mr. John G. Vonglis, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Financial Management and Comptroller (SAF/FM) for an insightful discussion about the current state of Air Force financial services. This event is hosted by The ASBC Professional Services and Transformation (PST) Working Group.

Located at Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C. Mr. Vonglis is the principal adviser to the Secretary of the Air Force, Chief of Staff and other senior Air Force officials for budgetary and fiscal matters. With nearly 700,000 military and civilian personnel and a budget of more than $124 billion, he serves as the Air Force's chief financial officer responsible for providing the financial management and analytical services necessary for the effective and efficient use of Air Force resources.

During this two-year planned effort, the Air Force will consolidate routine transactions handled by 93 base finance offices worldwide to a single location known as the AFFSC. The AFFSC takes over many of the "back office" processes typically handled by base finance offices.
