The Service Contract Inventories are coming! The Service Contract Inventories are coming! In fact, a number of them are already here ready for you to peruse.

Seriously though, do you know what a Service Contract Inventory is?

Are you familiar with the Federal Activities Inventory Reform (FAIR) Act Of 1998 and what it requires most federal agencies to produce, and when?

If not, we'll tell you about them and even show you what they are good for, from a finding new business opportunities standpoint, that is.

Here's the official word:
Section 743 of Division C of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2010 requires executive agencies, except the Department of Defense (DoD), covered by the Federal Activities Inventory Reform (FAIR) Act of 1998 (Public Law 105-270), to submit information annually in support of the agency-level inventories for service contracts.

Here's what it means to you as a current or prospective government contractor:
As a result of the FAIR Act, more than 50 departments, agencies, commissions, boards and other federally funded activities are required to produce and make available publicly, information related to service contract actions awarded by each organization that exceed $25,000.

What you are presented with is a free and comprehensive book of business that helps you understand:

  • who has been awarded services contracts at these organizations;
  • the nature of the work being done under a specific contract;
  • the dollar value of the contract award;
  • the estimated end date of the contract;
  • for whom the work is being done and more!
If you are seeking small, mid-tier or large companies with whom you can potentially partner or simply trying to understand the competitive landscape within a certain federal agency, the Service Contract Inventory can be another tool that helps you reach your federal sector goals.

This webinar edition of The ASBCs of Government Contracting will provide a substantive overview of the Service Contract Inventories and how they can be used to help connect the dots for business opportunities.

Business owners, executives and sales, marketing and business development professionals seeking to leverage useful information published by government agencies that can assist the identification of direct business and teaming opportunities should attend this interactive and very informative session.
