Meet The Press: Getting Yourself Inked!

As you'll find out, if you continue to review information about The American Small Business Coalition, we're focused on leveraging resources and opportunities specific to the federal contracting community to provide a benefit for companies that participate in our membership programs. Most of them, as the name would imply, are companies that meet the criteria for being designated as a small business.

One thing I've seen very clearly since starting The ASBC is the lack of understanding by the general population about "What is a small business?" as it relates to federal contracting and what are the things that small businesses need to do to perpetuate recognition and situations that lead to business opportunities. I'll get into more of this in a separate entry.

In the meantime, let's talk about the press and industry publications.

No matter where you are located, if it is your intent to do business in the federal sector, by this I mean, if you intend to pursue contract opportunities with any agency of the U.S. Federal Government, or subcontracting/teaming opportunities with any company doing business with the federal government, you need to be informed. Every part of the nation has it's regional publications that cover a range of topics, and I firmly suggest you learn how to extrapolate from them for relevant information. But as I started to say, no matter if you are in New Mexico or New York, if you want to do business with Fortune One (thanks Mark!) you need information. One of the best ways to get that information is through publications like:

and others that focus on this industry. In addition to being great sources of information, they also present superb opportunities for being a source of information and getting yourself/your company exposed in a very positive light.

We'll be hosting the event Meet The Press: Getting Yourself Inked! and featuring Editors and Writers from several of the publications listed above.
