Yes! Yes! Yes We Do! We've Got [Holiday] Spirit, How 'Bout You?!?!

The ASBC, Members and Partners MeetUp at Annual Holiday Charity Bash to Send Holiday Message of Support to Military in Form of Donation Check!

Okay, so this was one of the scenes near the end of the night for our 2010 Holiday Charity Bash, and man what a night! After last year's kickoff of this annual event, we weren't sure if it was a fluke that we were able to raise over $6K in ninety minutes to support our charity partners. So we pushed the envelope a bit and set a goal to raise $7500K this year and can you believe it?!?! We did it!!!

But this was far from a solo effort. The list of moving parts that came into synch to make this cozy yet highly energized seasonal networking fundraiser a success is not THAT long, but it is definitely worth recognizing those who stepped up in the different ways we asked for support.

First, our staff!

Last May we hired Shanita Barnhill (pictured to the right with volunteer Melvin Sassoon of Cougaar Software) as our Events Assistant and she has jumped into the fray headfirst. Her support in coordinating 2010 Bash logistics and the activities of the Events Planning Committee was incredible and without her, the event would not have come together as great as well as it did. Our Administrative Assistant Linda Goetz also contributed prior to and on the day of the event to ensure success!

Now, how 'bout them volunteers!

First there's our 2010 Holiday Charity Bash Planning Committee:

Shanita Barnhill, Events Coordinator, The American Small Business Coalition
Sheri Sylvester, AdZig Logo Promotions, Committee Chair
Annie Draper, Carr Workplaces, Committee Vice Chair
Sue Boyer, Acumen Advisors
Sandra Dutson, Carter Technology Consulting
Kelly Edington, The Computer Merchant
June Jewell, Acumen Advisors
Dori Kelner, Acumen Advisors
India Lewis, CompuSat
Joe Martin, Employment Enterprises
Harry Ponack, Lazos de Amistad
Harvetta Spann, BLS Group

Then there were our Workshop Elves (aka the Event Volunteers!):

Sue Boyer
, Acumen Advisors
William Cahillane, Infoblox, Inc.
Paul Dascenzo, Carr Workplaces
Richard Dean, Generva Software, Inc.
Kelly Edington, The Comouter Merchant
Dori Kelner, Sleight-of-Hand Studios, LLC
Kathleen Manley, Asset Funding Solutions, Inc.
Scott Moors, Computrad USA
Harry Ponack, Lazos de Amistad
Melvin Sassoon, Cougaar Software, Inc.
Crystal Smith, White House Council on Environment Quality
Harvetta Spann, BLS Group
Kathy Strauss, ImageWerks
Kendra Turner, GSA Public Buildings Service
Shawn Wilson, Carr Workplaces

And our guest bartenders who raised over $1100 in tips!

Bridget Bean, U.S. Small Business Administration
Riley Repko, Headquarters U.S. Air Force
Mary Davie, U.S. General Services Administration
Amy Morris, Federal News Radio
Jeffrey Fee, U.S. Army, Logistics Innovation Agency
Mauricio Vera, U.S. Agency for International Development
Sherry Baldwin, Defense Intelligence Agency

And our sponsors for the 2010 Holiday Charity Bash!

Golden Bells Sponsor

Silver Bells Sponsors

Photo Wall Sponsor

Commemorative Glass Sponsor

Jingle Bells Sponsors

Promotional Partners

All of this wonderful support can be summed up in one image:

American Freedom Foundation (AFF) Board Members Phil Panzarella (CPS Professional Services), Dave Barber (CPS Professional Services) and Scott Denniston (Scott Group of VA) join Maggie and I in announcing a donation of $7766.50 raised that evening to support our Wounded Warriors and Military Families of those killed in action in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
The word I got the next morning from SMA (retired) Jack Tilley, co-founder of AFF was HOOAH!

Peace and thank you to everyone that came out to support this effort. God Bless you and the men and women of our Military and their Families!
