"Tiny Business Contracting" and "Little Business Set-Asides" (Are Those Technical Terms?!?)
small business owner sent me a link to an article from yet another
"Expert Resource on Federal Contracting" and to my surprise and horror,
someone really did use the terms tiny and little in a serious conversation about small business and government contracting.
Okay, so it was an article/blog versus spoken conversation, but nevertheless, the author "...who has been writing articles online for nearly 2 years now, specializes in Small Business." did not come across as someone even reasonably well-informed on the topic of federal contracting.
To be frank, the article was downright demeaning and offensive.
all of the years I've been in this business, I have never been part of a
conversation where someone from Government or Industry referred to
"small businesses" as tiny or little in a serious or endearing context.
are references in the article to protests, the establishment and
original mission of SBA, small business goals and more, that are
inaccurate, incorrect and out of context.
Generally speaking, the article is a hodge-podge of incomplete facts and thoughts that will only serve to confuse, and made me invoke "Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot" out loud!
But I guess I should not be surprised when you consider the source of the information.
The federal circle responsible for this insulting and ill-informed content is one we'll advise our folks to avoid.
